Saudi Arabia Ranks Among Most Trusting and Unified Nations: Edelman Trust Barometer 2023 Reveals
The 2023 Edelman Trust Barometer report unveils Saudi Arabia’s impressive position as one of the most trusting and least polarized countries globally as Saudi Arabia Challenges Economic Pessimism, Ranks 7th in Global Optimism Index
Through an extensive survey of over 32,000 respondents across 28 countries, Edelman measures trust levels in institutions such as business, government, media, and NGOs.
Edelman’s research reveals elevated levels of trust in Saudi Arabia across all institutions. Notably, trust in the government stands at an impressive 83 percent, surpassing the global average of 50 percent.
Additionally, 73 percent of Saudis trust businesses, demonstrating their confidence in the corporate sector. Saudi employees exhibit trust in their employers, with 79 percent expressing faith in their organizations. Moreover, 73 percent of Saudis make purchasing decisions based on their beliefs and values. Trust in NGOs is also strong, with a notable 66 percent expressing faith in these organizations.
Among multinational organizations, the World Health Organization (WHO) emerges as the most trusted, surpassing esteemed entities like the United Nations (UN) and the European Union (EU). WHO’s position reflects the high level of confidence in its initiatives and efforts to improve global health.
Kenana Dahlan, the General Manager of Edelman Saudi Arabia, appreciates the Trust Barometer’s significance in shedding light on critical global issues. In Saudi Arabia, the survey results showcase a notable increase in trust toward the government, positioning it as a vital driving force for positive change, alongside the business community.
Moreover, the findings indicate Saudi Arabia’s distinction as the most unified country among the surveyed nations, highlighting the nation’s strong sense of national cohesion and solidarity.
Saudi Arabia’s remarkable performance in trust and unity, as indicated by the Edelman Trust Barometer 2023, showcases the nation’s resilience, optimism, and unwavering confidence in its institutions.
